130  偽りの比較を超えて

わたしの女の眼は太陽とは較べものにならない
珊瑚の方が彼女の唇の赤よりはるかに紅い
雪の白さに較べれば彼女の胸は薄黒い
針金が髪の毛であれば彼女の頭に生えているのは黒い針金。

紅白に綾なす薔薇を見たことがあるが
彼女の頬にはそのような薔薇は見られない
ある種の香水にはもっとよい香りがある
わたしの女が吐き出す口臭に較べれば。

彼女が話すのを聞くのは好きだが
音楽の方がはるかに心地よい音色を出す
これまで女神の歩く姿を見たことはないが
わたしの女が歩くときは大地を踏みつける音がする。

  それでもわたしは、わたしの恋人が類まれだと信じている
  偽りの比較で賞賛される女どもには劣らない。

 

My mistress’ eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips’ red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head;
I have seen roses damasked, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
