君主の天蓋を担ぐことにどんな意味がある
外見を飾り立てる栄誉や
永遠を求めて強大な礎を築こうと、そんなことは
破滅や破壊を前にしては束の間のことでしかない。

容姿や寵愛を頼りとする者たちが
収益以上のものを支払って、一切を失い
化合の甘みを求めて自然の味を捨て
虚飾に身を費やした惨めな驕れる者たちを見なかったか。

いや、きみの心に忠実に仕えさせてくれ
そして、貧しくとも物惜しみしない私の捧げものを受けてくれ
それは混じりけなしの、作為のないもの
きみの愛への、わたしの返礼に過ぎない。

　　立ち去るがいい、買収された密告者よ、真実の魂は
　　どんなに告発されようとも、たじろぐことはない。

Were’t ought to me I bore the canopy,
With my extern the outward honouring,
Or laid great bases for eternity,
Which proves more short than waste or ruining?
Have I not seen dwellers on form and favour
Lose all, and more, by paying too much rent,
For compound sweet forgoing simple savour,
Pitiful thrivers, in their gazing spent?
No, let me be obsequious in thy heart,
And take thou my oblation, poor but free,
Which is not mixed with seconds, knows no art,
But mutual render, only me for thee.
　Hence, thou suborned informer, a true soul
　When most impeached, stands least in thy control.
